Subway: the F uptown to Rockefeller Center, walked to Grand Central Station.
There's always a street fair somewhere. This one was Madison Avenue.
The Waldorf-Astoria: great to rest, refresh, and have a light but fancy snack at Peacock Alley. (Steak tartare, Croque Madame, and a Manhattan!)
Beekman Place to hear my friend John and Bill, the Manhattan Valley Ramblers. "House concert."
