Museum of Chinese In America: Hmong Event

Great event. We'd wanted to check this out, the new museum, designed by Maya Lin, that isn't even open yet (see post below for links). A talk about the Eastwood film, Gran Torino, which centered on the Hmong community in Minnesota. "Conversation and documentary screening with Bee Vang (played lead “Thao”), Doua Moua (“Spider”), and Louisa Schein (Asian American media expert, Rutgers University). The actors were really insightful about their experience, and Ms. Shein was an amazing expert on Hmong in cinema. The Museum is unfinished but showing lovely clips, stories of various Chinese-Americans.
