i used to take the six every day (transfer to the 3/4 and then to the 1/2) and it was usually sardine-packed wayyyy beyond these photos at 9am (have you been in the subway at rush hour yet? it is pretty ridiculous) and then quiet and hypnotic coming back at 9/10pm.
anyway, the newer trains you get on the numbered lines are really nice and fancy and usually air-conditioned, but there's still a place in my heart for the awful hot lights-sometimes-broken mcdonalds-color-theme trains you still sometimes get on the letter trains.
